Paris bound!

We're going to PARIS!!! My dream has come true and I couldn't be happier!
I have been wanting to go to Paris for a long time and for whatever reason I've been putting it off... well.. I said no more! let's do it!
After much thought, I finally convinced Iggy and we went ahead and booked our trip... it has been over a week since I bought the tickets and I still can't believe it.. this is going to be so exciting!!!
It will be just the two of us this time as my mom will be watching the girls while we're gone!
We'll be leaving to Paris on May 21st until the 30th...I know that the day I stand by the Eiffel Tower, I will cry... and then I will cross one of the items on my "dream" list!
Thank you God for yet another dream come true!

Erika's 3rd Birthday

Today my niece Erika (aka Cookie) is turning 3 years old! wow!..
Erika is such a sweet little girl... such a pure soul and a beautiful little person... Despite her parents' separation and special circumstances in which she has spent her life, she inspires so much sweetness and happiness...
She had so much fun today... we had some cupcakes at school with her classmates and then we took her to ChuckeCheese at night... She played with a bunch of friends and ate lots of cake...it was great!
Happy Birthday Cookie! I love you so much!

Olivia is 31 months!

Only a few more months until Olivia's 3rd birthday... how crazy is that? She is so beautiful and has such an amazing personality..
Olivia is so sweet to everyone and loves to hang out around other kids...
She enjoys dancing and loves all kinds of music... She has few favorite songs and is quite the little singer...
Olivia is in love with her baby sister and has become such a great caregiver. She is so gentle and sweet to her, it melts my heart...
Olivia also loves to eat chocolate and ice cream.. I think she has a sweet tooth like her mommy....
Recently, Olivia was moved up to a different classroom, the one with 3 year olds... the teachers claimed she was very "mature" and a change was suggested, so we agreed....
I love my little lady..such a joy to be around...
Happy 31 months Olivia!

Gaby is 7 months!

Time sure is flying and I'm not sure I'm liking it... ha! My baby is already 7 months! Not so little anymore... she already has a personality of her own and shares her every demand with us...
She is so much fun! She can now sit on her own and is "army" crawling... she is so determined and has great self assurance...
Gaby now eats whatever we eat; she loves chicken and ice cream.. it is so cute to watch her try out new tastes and fun foods...
Gaby also "talks" a lot... she says "mamma, pappa, hi, bye" and a few others.. she also waves and is almost clapping her little hands...
She is doing great in the sleep department, sleeping consistently from 8pm to 7am every day.. I love it!
She also LOVES her sister and her heart melts when she sees Iggy.. definitely a daddy's girl...
No doctor's appointment this month, so I'm not sure what she weighs but she sure is getting heavier and growing steadily and very healthy!
Happy 7 months Gaby!!

Today was simply perfect! We had a day filled with LOVE and enjoyed each other's company, every minute of the day...
The girls were amazing and we all had a blast...Iggy got me a Fossil watch, which is beautiful... I was so thankful since I've been wanting to get a watch for a long time...
All in all.. a great Valentine's Day!

Metro Zoo

"I want to see a giraffe!".. that's what Olivia kept saying for a whole week, after we promised her we would take her to the zoo on the weekend...
She was so obsessed with the whole idea, that we had no other choice but to take her to Metro Zoo to see all the animals she was dreaming of...
So, this afternoon we made a trip to the zoo with our friends Roxana and Jose and their kids, who are about the ages of Olivia and Gaby...
The weather was beautiful and the zoo was awesome... and Olivia did see the giraffe... We walked around for hours, visiting all kinds of animals and the kids had a blast running after each other..
Afterwards we all had dinner and enjoyed a nice and fun conversation... it's alway great to get together with our friends and their little kids...
Yay for a fun filled day!

Meeting Cory, Christian and Ricky

Today we met my friend Cory and her family at Bayside Shopping Center in Miami.
Cory and I met online while we were pregnant with our first babies... Cory's little boy Christian, was born about 3 weeks after Olivia. Although we hadn't met in person, we have kept in touch with each through the internet all this time...
Cory and her family happen to be in Miami for a wedding and we decided to meet up...We all met for a while in Miami and it was great...
Olivia had a great time playing with Christian and I loved meeting Cory and her husband Ricky..they are such a nice family.. and it's always great to meet friends from WTE... how fun!

Kim and Izzy visit from Virginia

Feb. 8th-Feb 11th
I had the pleasure of having my good friend Kim visit us for a few days. She came with her little baby Izzy, who was born in late November... she is adorable...
I met Kim through WTE while we were pregnant with our firsts... She has a baby boy named Caden, who is Olivia's age...
We've had the opportunity of meeting several times in different places and every time it has been great...
I was so happy to show her around and she was happy to take a break from the cold weather...it was so nice to spend time with her and Izzy and I'm so thankful for her friendship...
Thanks for coming Kim! I hope we can do it again!

During Kim's visit, we met up with Jen and her kids (also from WTE)... it was great to talk and see the kids together.. how awesome!

Memory Thursday...

Today I decided to reminisce about the times when I was skinny, so I'm going to call this Skinny Times..
Although it is hard to believe (even for me), I was once very thin and comfortable in my own body... Of course this was all before I had children and my body weight got out of control....
It was nice to be able to go to the beach without being embarrassed...Hopefully I will feel like that again... and it better be soon...
These pictures should be my inspiration....They were all taken in 2005...

Morning photo shoot!

This morning, as I was getting ready, both girls were laying in bad and Olivia said to me "Mommy, take a picture of us!"... I thought it was so cute, and of course I took out my camera and started snapping pictures...
They were having so much fun together and some really cute and memorable pictures came out.. so it was a great morning "impromptu" photo shoot!

Weird, crazy world!

Lately I have been thinking a lot about the world we have... our society in general... and it's very scary....
Ever since I became a parent, I started to care (a lot more) about how society has "evolved" and what my children will be exposed to as they grow up...and the more thought I give it, the worse I feel about it and the more fears I develop about the kind of world my girls will have to live in...
I think society has regressed to a point of no return. We no longer have respect for each other, people have no dignity, TV is extremely violent and overly sexualized and technology is so developed that it's scary....
I remember when I was growing up, I used to play with barbies and now kids want to play with guns? When did we go from Strawberry Shortcake, who was a sweet little girl who dressed in pink, to SpongeBob, who is a sponge with friends that hit him?...

...and cell phones?? come on!! I got a cell phone as my 18th birthday present and now kids have cell phones as early as 7 years old?... isn't that crazy?? Do parents even know what kind of danger these things represent? and it's not like it's an option to give your child a cell phone, they actually expect it!

...how about women?? When did we change our standards?? Why is it ok now to walk around half naked? In the past, women had respect for themselves... they used to dress decently and act lady-like.... and no! I'm not saying we should cover ourselves up like women did in the past, but come on!.. some women walk around almost naked with no shame? it's disgusting...

...what's the pleasure in strangers seeing your ass??

...how about having your boobs sticking out?... or making them bigger than your bikini can handle??

..I'm simply disgusted sometimes at what the world has become... and granted, I do consider myself a fairly conservative person, but some things are just overboard even for liberal... It's very scary to see how low most people's standards have gone and it's really sad to know that this is the legacy that we are leaving our children... I don't even want to think about what the world will be like when my daughters are teenagers... scary thought!
I could go on and on about the many things that are wrong with the world and today's society, but honestly I don't want to get more frustrated that I already am...:(
