Gumucio girls birthday party
Today we attended a fun pool party to celebrate Irene Victoria's and Valeria's birthdays, who happen to be a couple of weeks apart....The Gumucio sisters are my cousin's two girls, born in 2002 and 2007 respectively..
The party was really fun and the weather was great... It was Gaby's first time in the water and she really loved it... Olivia also had a wonderful time running around and playing in the pool...
This one right here is Irene Victoria, she will turn 8 years old on April 19th... I still remember the day she was born...and it feels like it was just yesterday...amazing...

Olivia's swimming lessons
My friend Pechy and I hired a private instructor for our girls... Her name is Robyn and she is a professional swimmer as well as a lifeguard in Ft. Lauderdale Beach... she is awesome...
Both Olivia and Melissa had a very hard time adjusting to the idea of "swimming" and they were both terrified of the water and the swimming exercises, however, after a few attempts they were able to master the most important tasks and the lessons were successful...
We have a few more lessons left and I certainly hope Olivia gets closer to swimming by the summer!... it's so much fun!

Play date with Lindsay and Brooke
Today we had another one of those fun play dates with a fellow WTE baby and her mommy...
Lindsay came over with her baby Brooke, who was born just 4 days after Gaby.... The babies got to sit and play together and Lindsay and I chatted up... it was great...it's awesome to see the babies interact and grow up together...
Come back again soon girls!

Memory Thursday...
Today I'm going to post pictures of our Trip to Texas, which we took back in in 2006. Iggy's best friend (Damian) happened to be in Houston for business, so we decided to meet him up there since it's a lot closer than Argentina (that's where he lives)...
We went to Houston and Austin, which was an awesome experience since I got to visit the University of Texas at Austin, where my parents went to school... I loved walking around campus, imagining the times when they were there as college students... it was great!
Ever since I visited Texas, I've been wanting to move there...ahhh!! maybe one day!

Update on Gaby
So here's the update: Today was Gaby's appointment with the GI doctor, the one that was going to tell me if anything was wrong with our baby girl, the one that was either going to give me relief or stress me out even more...
I went into the appointment with mixed feelings, not knowing what to expect... I waited a mere 20 minutes and was called in to see Dr. T, who happened to be amazingly nice and very caring...
As soon as he saw Gaby, he said "Why are you here?", so I proceeded to tell him that we had been referred by Gaby's pediatrician due to weight concerns and such...
He took a look at Gaby, reviewed her medical history and examined her... He asked me about her development, eating habits, etc... After an exam, he said to me: "Your daughter is perfect!"... Oh my God.. those are the sweetest words I have heard in a while!! He said her body is absolutely perfect and there is nothing wrong with her weight or her health...
He said that it is quite common for kids to drop on weight percentile after 6 months, based on the fact that growth after such age depends heavily on genetics. Both Iggy and I were "skinny" babies so he said it was very possible that she was skinny just like us...
I told him Olivia was a bit chubbier when she was little and he said that siblings can have different body frames and it didn't mean that one was healthier than the other...and that the most important things were cognitive and motor development and whether or not the baby was hitting milestones accordingly...which she obviously is!
I have to be honest and say that I was very relieved to hear all this and also happy that my motherly instinct was correct the whole time...
I thank God for this wonderful day and great appointment.. I love hearing great news, especially when they're about my daughter! God bless this day!
