Did somebody say "Clingy Baby"?

...because I got one... a very clingy one as a matter of fact... I'm literally going INSANE!!!
I have the baby I was always afraid of... the baby I can't put down because she will cry instantly, that one that will look at me and pout as I walk away to go pee, the one that won't fall asleep unless I rock her and when she's finally asleep and I put her in her crib she will wake up and will not stop crying unless I put her in bed with me!... oh my!... I could go on and on about the kind of baby I have and how exhausting it is...
...don't get me wrong, I love my baby and I secretly like the fact that she needs me "that" much but I can't seem to come to an acceptance of the fact that she is too spoiled... she has the ability to melt my heart even though I know it's wrong to give in to her every cry!
She will go from being a happy and smiley baby to that kind of baby that everyone runs away from...sometimes it's even embarrassing... she's way too dependent on me...
I have a headache and I'm running out of ideas of how to get her to be a little more assertive and independent...
We have tried letting her "cry it out" and it works somewhat, but not to the extent I would want it to work.. I'm really hoping that as time goes on, she will get better at self-soothing and self-entertaining because I cannot function well like this!
Help!! any ideas??

Hi,

I ran into your site cause I too have a very clingy child. Ayden just turned 1 yrs old & he does not want to be with anyone else but me. I cannot even go pee without him. On my days off of work (I work 5 days a week, 9 hrs a day) I spend the day trying to do my housework, run errands & have dinner ready for my 15 yr old son & my SO all with Ayden tugging at my pants & crying to be picked up. He won't even play with his toys unless I sit on the floor & play with him. It's very frustrating!! I don't have any advice for you, I just wanted you to know you are not alone. I was somewhat relived to find so many other mommies with the same issue. Good Luck to you!!

Wow! thanks so much for the support.. it does make me feel better to know I'm not alone..
My first daughter was the total opposite, so this is new to me!
I really hope this is just a stage that she will soon outgrow!
Take care!

Hi Adriana!
I was speaking with Janelle tonight on this and she wanted me to let you know that Julien is the exact same way as Gaby. She said you can email her on it if you need to talk :)

I hope it gets better :(
